FAQ

1.What is the purpose of your equipment?

Answer: Our equipment provides early fire warnings, capable of issuing alerts hours before combustion occurs, giving users valuable time to eliminate fire hazards.

2.How does the equipment detect fires?

Answer: Veccds collects air samples from the protected area via a sampling pipe network and analyzes them. If the air sample contains thermal release ions from overheating or damage that exceeds the set threshold, the detector will issue an alarm, prompting users to take action.

3.How much earlier can it issue an alarm compared to other products?

Answer:

The alarm lead time varies based on the type of combustion:

Arson: Challenging to predict early.

Cigarette ignition: Usually less than 1 hour in advance.

Aging or overloaded wiring: Can issue an alarm several hours in advance.

4.Do I still need to install the device if fire in some areas doesn’t significantly impact me?

Answer: Our equipment primarily protects high-value, non-combustible critical locations and items, such as museums, data centers, and subways. If fire poses minimal impact to you, installation may not be necessary.

5.Should I install it if fires are manageable within a small area?

Answer: Any fire occurrence indicates a hidden risk. Our equipment is often used in unattended areas, preventing secondary damage caused by indiscriminate sprinkler activation.

6.How does it integrate with fire alarm panels?

Answer: Our detection device relays signals for pre-alarms, fire alarms, and faults via a fire monitoring module, sending feedback to the fire alarm panel. The fire alarm panel will receive alerts when the device detects alarms or faults.

7.Is the device connected to the internet?

Answer: The device supports proprietary backend software and cloud platform connectivity. After connecting to a control room via a 485 interface, it can be accessed through a gateway to the backend software. Users can also monitor its status in real-time via a mobile app.

8. Is the device easy to install?

Answer: Yes, installation is simple. Secure the mounting bracket 1.5 meters above the ground, then hang the device on it.

9. What is the power supply for the equipment?

Answer: The equipment operates on DC 24V. Optional backup power supplies with a battery function can provide up to 4 hours of power during outages.

10.Is the device prone to false alarms?

Answer: The detector uses cloud chamber detection technology to identify thermal release ions, which are not affected by dust or similar interference, effectively eliminating false alarms.

11.Will smoking trigger an alarm?

Answer: Smoking involves combustion and may trigger an alarm. Veccds features a scene intelligence module to adjust sensitivity based on scenarios, reducing the likelihood of false alarms.

12.What is the maximum sampling pipe length?

Answer: Depending on the model, a single pipe can reach up to 120 meters, with a total length of 480 meters for four pipes.

13.What is the maximum coverage area for a single sampling hole?

Answer: A single sampling hole can cover up to 81㎡, depending on the air exchange rate of the area.

14.What are the specifications and materials for the sampling pipes?

Answer: Sampling pipes have an outer diameter of φ25mm and a wall thickness of 2mm, with an inner diameter of φ21mm recommended. Material options include PVC, UPVC, ABS, or metal.

15.Will the pipes accumulate dust and require cleaning?

Answer: An optional automatic pipe flushing device (purchased separately) can be set to clean at specified times, completing the process automatically without manual intervention.

16.Will the continuously running fan wear out easily?

Answer: The fan operates continuously. Veccds employs centrifugal fans that have undergone rigorous performance and longevity tests. Usage data from years of projects shows no need for replacement within the product's lifespan.

17.What is the device's lifespan and warranty period?

Answer: The designed lifespan is 10 years, with 6 years recommended for use. The warranty period depends on the contract terms.

18.What is the maximum coverage area of a single device?

Answer: A single pipe covers up to 500㎡, and a single detector can cover up to 2000㎡, following fire compartment division regulations.

19.What are the drawbacks of the equipment?

Answer: The metal construction offers excellent electromagnetic interference resistance but is slightly heavy. Optimization and upgrades are in progress.

20.Is the touchscreen fragile?

Answer: It uses a resistive screen with high stability, strong electromagnetic interference resistance, and support for operation with various objects, ensuring a long service life.

21.What are some performance cases of the equipment?

Answer: The products are widely used by the Chinese Institute of High Energy Physics, the China Academy of Space Electronics, State Grid Corporation of China, China Telecom, the People's Bank of China, subways, and museums, receiving unanimous praise.

22.How reliable is the equipment in long-term operation?

Answer: Aging tests in labs and real-world project usage show the equipment functions reliably for up to 10 years. Units produced in 2016 are still operating normally.

23.Can capacitors last 10 years?

Answer: Power capacitors have a design lifespan of 20-30 years, meeting national standards and technical requirements.

24.What is the lifespan of the laser?

Answer: Generally, lasers with lower threshold currents last longer. With a threshold current of 8–12mA, the laser's continuous lifespan exceeds 100,000 hours (over 11 years).
